Lenovo K8 Note Vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 4: Comparison Of Camera, Battery, Price And Other Specifications

Earlier today, Lenovo launched the K8 Note in India. The smartphone comes with stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS, dual-cameras at the back, and more. The Lenovo K8 Note will compete with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Coolpad Cool 1 and Honor 6X. Here’s a look at how these smartphones compare based on their price, specifications and features.

Price and Availability: The K8 Note is offered in two storage variants – 3GB RAM + 32GB storage priced at Rs 12,999, and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage priced at Rs 13,999. The smartphone will be available exclusively on Amazon India starting August 18.

The Redmi Note 4 can be purchased from Flipkart and mi.com, for Rs 9,999 (2GB RAM + 32GB storage), Rs 10,999 (3GB RAM + 32GB storage) and Rs 12,999 (4GB RAM + 64GB storage). The Honor 6X is priced at Rs 10,999 for 32GB storage variant, and Rs 12,999 for the 64GB storage variant. It can be purchased from Amazon India. The Coolpad Cool 1 is also Amazon India exclusive, and can be purchased for Rs 12,999.

Specifications:  All four smartphones feature a 5.5-inch full HD display. The K8 Note is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek Helio X23 deca-core chipset, paired with 3GB or 4GB of RAM, depending on the variant you choose. The Redmi Note 4 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC, paired with 2GB/3GB or 4GB of RAM depending on the storage variant you choose.

While the Coolpad Cool 1 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC with 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage, the Honor 6X is powered by the Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 655 octa-core SoC. You can choose between 3GB of RAM with 32GB storage, or 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage. Except for the Coolpad Cool 1, all smartphones also feature expandable storage option using a microSD card.

Cameras: The K8 Note features dual-camera at the back – 13-megapixel + 5-megapixel. One of the cameras takes photos, whereas the other captures depth information, allowing you to add DSLR-like bokeh effects to your photos. The Redmi Note 4 uses a single 13-megapixel camera with dual-tone LED flash.

Coolpad Cool 1 features two 13-megapixel cameras at the back – one is color sensor and other is monochrome sensor. Both sensors work together to offer detailed photos in any lighting conditions. The Honor 6X also features dual-cameras – a 12-megapixel primary and 2-megapixel additional sensor, which captures depth-of-field information.

Up front, the K8 Note features a 13-megapixel front camera with LED flash, the Redmi Note 4 comes with 5-megapixel camera, whereas the Coolpad Cool 1 and Honor 6X comes with an 8-megapixel front camera.

Connectivity: All four smartphones feature dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE with VoLTE voice calling feature, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11n. For charging and data transfers, the K8 Note, the Redmi Note 4 and the Honor 6X use a microUSB port, whereas the Coolpad Cool 1 uses the USB Type-C standard.

Battery: The Lenovo K8 Note is armed with a 4,000mAh battery with fast charging capabilities. The Redmi Note 4 comes with a slightly larger 4,100mAh battery, wheres the Coolpad Cool 1 comes with a 4,000mAh battery. Lastly, the Honor 6X has the smallest battery capacity of the four devices here, with a 3,340mAh one.

Operating system and user interface:  Out of the four smartphones, the Lenovo K8 Note runs on stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS, whereas the others run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. The Redmi Note 4 features MIUI 8 interface, Coolpad Cool 1 comes with EUI whereas the Honor 6X comes with Emotion UI.
