Xiaomi is setting one record after the other, and the Redmi Note 4 has brought home most of these awards home. Launched barely two months ago, Xiaomi has managed to sell the fastest million units of the Redmi Note 4 in this time period. To be precise, Redmi Note 4 has sold more than one million units in 45 days from its first sale on January 23, 2017.
Xiaomi made the announcement of the achievement on its Redmi India page on Facebook.
This figure dovetails Xiaomi India head Manu Jain’s roadmap for the sales of Redmi Note 4, in which he envisions to sell as many as 7 million units of the Redmi Note 4 this year. Plus, he aims for Xiaomi to become the number one in overall smartphone sales volume perspective in India in the next 3-5 years.
Further, Xiaomi India also plans to ramp up its manufacturing in the country. From what Jain revealed in a recent interview, over three-fourths of the Xiaomi smartphone sold in 2016 were made in India. In 2017, the number is set to increase, with the company’s plans to to open one or two new factories with similar capacities to double or triple their production either at Sri City itself or elsewhere in the country with Foxconn.
In addition to that, Xiaomi claims that the first flash sale of Redmi Note 4, which happened last month, was the biggest-ever online only smartphone launch in the country. The Redmi Note 4 went on its first flash sale on January 23, and in 10 minutes over 250,000 units of the smartphone were sold. Xiaomi had revealed that the first flash sale of Redmi Note 4 witnessed more than 3x and 5x quantity of the first sale of Redmi 3S and Redmi Note 3 respectively.
For a few years now, Xiaomi is known for its record-breaking performance. Last year, the Redmi Note 3 broke records for being the most shipped smartphone sold online in a given quarter, according to IDC.
Xiaomi has so far conducted six sales for its Redmi Note 4 smartphone on Flipkart and Mi.com, and the last of it brought the matte black variant of the Redmi Note 4 in India. The Redmi Note 4 features a metal unibody design, a fingerprint sensor, along with a massive battery.
